Optimization of TC Transcontinental’s Printing Network: Owen Sound Facility to Close at End of January

Montréal, October 14, 2026 - TC Transcontinental (TSX: TCL.A TCL.B) announced today that it will close its Owen Sound, Ontario, printing facility at the end of January 2027 as part of the optimization of its integrated national printing network.

“Continued productivity improvements across our printing network, combined with changes in our product mix, enable us to consolidate production in other facilities. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to close our Owen Sound plant,” said Patrick Brayley, Chief Operating Officer, TC Transcontinental. “This decision, which affects a plant that has been part of TC Transcontinental since 1992, was not made lightly. We sincerely regret the impact on our approximately 360 employees, their families and the Owen Sound community. We are deeply grateful to our current and former employees for their hard work and commitment over the years, and we will support our employees with respect throughout this transition, including through career transition services. We will also work closely with our customers through the transition.”

“TC Transcontinental has always evolved by adapting to changing markets, transforming its activities and making disciplined decisions that, while sometimes difficult, are driven by the company’s long‑term future,” said Sam Bendavid, Chief Executive Officer, TC Transcontinental. “As we expand in our growth segments, including In‑Store Marketing & Specialty and Educational Publishing, while stabilizing our traditional printing activities, we must continue to take the steps required to build an even more competitive organization. I want to acknowledge the important role our Owen Sound employees have played in our company’s journey and express my sincere appreciation for their contribution and professionalism.”

TC Transcontinental’s presence in Ontario will remain strong, with approximately 40% of its employees working in the province. Its Ontario operations include a state‑of‑the art facility in Vaughan for the Marketing and Information Group; Aurora, Brampton and Paris for the In‑Store Marketing and Specialty Group; and Mississauga for the Content and Business Intelligence Group. TC Transcontinental also operates facilities in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Québec and Nova Scotia.
