Improved Environmental Footprint without Sacrificing Performance!

Innovating to divert plastic waste from landfills with Integritite™ PCR. We bring a combination of  know-how, collaboration, and commitment to a circular economy when developing reliable sustainable films. Integritite™ PCR collation bundling films are created to include a high-loading of PCR and/or PIR resins and are 100% recycle-ready.

Integritite™ PCR collation bundling films are specially crafted to have a lower environmental impact while maintaining superior mechanical benefits. Incorporating Recycled plastic waste (PCR and/or PIR resins) into our Integritite™ films, we’ve created films that are on par with virgin plastic resin performance, are recyclable, look great on the shelf, and respond to the consumers’ desire for environmentally responsible packaging.

Make the switch to circular by choosing Integritite™ PCR films for sustainability with little impact on esthetics and no impact on performance.

Did you know?

Consumers are putting recycling responsibility squarely on the shoulders of brands. 64% of US food/drink shoppers say food/drink manufacturers should be responsible for environmentally friendly choices.

Plastic waste is collected from a number of sources including, curbside collected, household single-stream recyclables, commercial plastic waste, agricultural waste, industrial waste, and more.

The collected plastic waste, diverted from the waste-stream and landfill, is sorted, washed, filtered and transformed into a recycled polyethylene plastic resin.

TC Transcontinental Packaging is a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and a supporter of their How2Recycle® in-store recycling program. Ask us how you can include this important sustainability feature on your labels!

The recycled resin pellets are extruded and crafted back into shrink films for bundling and protecting consumer products.

Recovered PE plastics are processed back into Post-consumer resin pellets.

After use, the consumer can place the recycle-ready plastic bundling into the local municipal recycling bins where accepted, or drop-off at in-store collection centers.

PIR or PCR …
What’s the difference?

Flexible packaging containing recycled content means the product was made from materials recovered or separated from the "waste stream" and re-used. A package can be classified as containing recycled material if it utilizes waste material that is post-industrial and/or post-consumer. There is a difference between these two materials but both are very valuable when considering a sustainable packaging solution.

Post-Consumer Resin (PCR)

is resin created from plastic waste used by the consumer for its intended purpose, has reached its end of use, and then tossed into a recycling bin. PCR can be material that is curbside collected, household single-stream recyclables, or recyclables that are collected through deposit collection locations.

Post Industrial Resin (PIR)

is resin created from plastic waste gathered from industrial/manufacturing production waste that did not meet its intended purpose, and has been collected for recycling.

The use of recycled resin in your flexible packaging films means that less plastic waste is sent to landfills. Recycled content reduces the need for virgin materials to create the film, and also, decreases the energy required to produce packaging materials, all contributing to a  lower environmental  impact.

Our recycling activities:

Ensuring a stable and
high-quality supply of
recycled resins.

To ensure the stable procurement of recycled resins to meet our 2025 sustainability commitments, we have created a new Recycling Group to vertically integrate the recycling of plastics in our production chain.

The formation of our Recycling Group allows us to:

  • Have a better understanding of waste source
  • Increase sourcing for a more predictable quality, volume, consistency, and performance
  • Develop the purest PE with the required density, melt flow and other characteristics critical for your unique applications.
