Our commitment to
sustainability
We share the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s vision of a circular economy for plastic, where plastic never becomes waste.
Let's create a true circular economy for plastics, one package at a time.
approach to
plastic
so that 100% of our plastic packaging will be reusable, recyclable or compostable.
the use of post-consumer recycled content of 10% on average by weight, across all plastics in our product basket.
with industry partners to increase reuse, recycling, and composting rates for plastics in the communities where we operate.
How will we will achieve our 2025 goals?
By blending art, science and technology to create innovative sustainable packaging. We also invest 1% of our packaging activities' annual revenues to support our sustainable product development efforts and actively meet our 2025 goals.
Speaking of goals, we also joined, in 2020, the United Nations Global Compact! Take a look here.

What is the Ellen MacArthur Foundation?
Ellen MacArthur is a successful solo long-distance yachtswoman, who witnessed first hand the ocean plastic problem through her sailing experience. In the context of the global plastics problem, she started the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2010 with a mission to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy by working with businesses, governments and academia.
TC Transcontinental Packaging was the first Canadian packaging manufacturer to join the Ellen MacArthur Foundation New Plastics Economy Global Commitment.
We share the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s common vision of a circular economy for plastic, where plastic never becomes waste.
What is the New Plastics Economy?
Applying the principles of the circular economy, whereby we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value while in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of its life.
